Karnali River: (Grade 4 - 5) Duration: 10 days
This is the longest and largest river of Nepal, which originates in Tibet. Rafting in this river is quite difficult because of its strong rapids. This river has very clean water. One can see many wild life as well as river dolphins during the trip. This trip is possible after long trek to reach the starting point. Main features of the rafting are the magnificent forest scenery, spectacular rock formations, waterfalls, deserted White River beaches and rare wildlife and many local and migratory birds.
Itinerary :
Day 01 |
08:00 A.M. Departure from Kathmandu |
Day 02 |
05:00 P.M. Arrival at Surkhet. Trek option: begin trekking straight away. Camp at school halfway to river. |
Day 03 |
Continue Trek to river arriving early afternoon, rafting for an hour or two, and Camp. |
Day 04 |
River to above jungle Ghat |
Day 05 |
Visit Jungle Ghat village, river to above the Jungle Corridor |
Day 06 |
The big day - God's house rapid and others. |
Day 07 |
Out of the Jungle Corridor |
Day 08 |
Steady float to confluence of the Bheri river |
Day 09 |
Half day to Chisopani, leave mid-afternoon |
Day 10 |
Drive back to Kathmandu |
Rafting trip Cost : US$ 300.00 p.p.
The above price includes:
- All meals during the rafting and trekking period.
- All necessary rafting & trekking permit.
- All ground transportation bus/van.
- Guide, cook and other helper, their wages, meal, insurance etc.
- All rafting, kitchen and camping equipment.
The above price doesn't include:
- Cold drinks and alcoholic beverages during trip.
